Dad, Auntie Olive & Auntie Betty
on Blackpool front around '53 or '54.
Dad, Auntie Betty & Auntie Olive
on holiday in either Guernsey or Isle of Man
in around 1950 - 1.
Me and Auntie Betty :)
Taken at Lynne's 40th in 2004.
Of all the Aunts and Uncles that I have,
the one that has been around always is my Auntie Betty,
she's one of my Dads big sisters and never lets him forget it either, lol.
Every memory I have and Auntie Betty is there, I was born in her house
and I guess it just went on from there :)
Every Weekend we would watch out for Nanna, Auntie Betty
and Auntie Olive to turn the top of the road, pulling a 'granny' shopper
behind them and we just knew that there would be something nice in
there for us, a bag of toffees or something :)
Auntie Betty was the one who would sit patiently and let me 'do' her hair
even if I did knot it up to heck :) she's there at Birthdays, Christmas,
family Parties, everthing :) we love her heaps and so does Dad.
My Dad has lost two sisters, My Auntie Olive and Auntie Pam, we used to
see them too but not as often, Auntie Olives husband, Uncle Harry is at our
family parties now so we see him quite a bit, Auntie Pam died a few years ago
and we have 3 cousins that we don't really see at all now.
Auntie Pam, Auntie Betty, Dad & Auntie Olive
taken at Auntie Bettys 60th Birthday in '96.
Auntie Betty & Me taken at Easter 1962.
Taken here with Claire & Chris around June '85.
and again at her 60th Birthday with the kids :)
My Mum has two Brothers,
Uncle Bob and Uncle Ray, the photo above is
Nanna kelly, Uncle Bob as a newborn and my Mum
I think this was taken around '43 or '44.
Uncle Bob was in the Army when I was very little
so I didn't have a lot of memories of him when I was a child.
He retired from the Army and drove taxi's for many years
until his illness prevented him from working really long hours.
I always remember him having one arem a lot browner than
the other due to having the cab window down and the sun
hitting one arm only, lol, I also remember him as being a
really big tease, he would have me and Trevor in tears
with his tormenting of us, we scooted out of his way
many a time when we knew he was coming!!!
Later on in life he met and married a lovely lady called Rosy,
the picture abouve is Uncle Bob and Rosy
at Christophers Christening in June '84.
There was some kind of family falling out and Uncle Bob
just seemed to dissapear which is a shame but I guess
that's how he wanted it to be, he has no contact with
Nanna & Grandad either.
My Mums other brother is Uncle Ray.
Now I really didn't see him as I grew up, he was a very
dedicated Army man who did his time in the Forces
and then signed on for additional years, so we saw him
rarely and he didn't have much time for noisy kids !!
I guess that's Army life for you :)
We see Uncle Ray a lot more now, he comes allong
to family parties and BBQ's we saw him early April 05
for a party Mum did for my brother going
to work abroad.
It seems a shame that we never really knew him as kids
because he's a nice bloke now, maybe because we are
now adults we can see that :)
I wish I had photo's of Mum with her Brothers
but I can't find any, I will get her to hunt one out :)
