| These are my Parents Mum & Dad to me, Ron and Maureen to their Friends, Now I'm 44 I often ask when will I feel old, maybe they feel old having a daughter my age? to me they will never be old, they will always be 'Mum and Dad', ageless. I have been very lucky to blessed with parents like these two, I have had a great life, maybe one or two less brothers might have been nice! (just kidding guys, hehe) We have had the best of upbringings even though it didn't seem so when I was a teen but that was just my own selfish problems that I grew out of thank goodness. Mum was the one always at home, there to see us of to school, there to welcome us home, she also had jobs here and there to make ends meet, doing far more for us all than we ever really got to know about, I love my Mum, xxx Dad was the one who worked all the hours that God sent, to hold us all together and not let us suffer in any way. He was the guy at the head of the Sunday Dinner table, that made sure we prayed before our meals and had the manners to ask to be excused at the end of it. He is my Pops, xxx A few years ago, Dad had a Heart Attack and to say it shook us all would be putting it mildly! That kind of thing makes you take stock and puts all things into perspective, major worries or so we thought, soon became minor in comparison. Thankfully he is doing ok now, on his Meds and they are working for him, he had to take early retirement by about seven months, (2000) and we all got him a PC for his 60th Birthday and retirement, welcome to the www. Dad, hehe. Mum retired in 2002 but she still works, I can't ever see her giving up work completely, but now at least she gets to pick when she works. She's learning all about the PC, better watch out dad, she's after your seat :) Dad say's when she retires completely, he's getting a 60 hour week job, lol, but he's just kidding, I think!!!! I am so envious of them, they are now at that stage in their lives that they have all the time in the world to enjoy their lives together even more, I wish them joy and hapiness and I only wish that I had the same amount of time to spend with them myself *S* So, to you Mum and Dad, I Love You both so much, you are responsible for the kind of person that I have grown into, you have been there for me whenever I needed you, you even gave me all my great Brothers and Sisters, even though a few more Sisters would have been good! Sorry, I'm doing it again, hehe. I wish you Happiness, I wish you joy I send my Love to you both always You are the best Mum & Dad. Sue xxx |
