Nanna & Grandad Kelly have lived in several places around Stockport,
I remember them living in Reddish when I was very small,
but my main memories are of when they lived in Marple,
my Grandad would always slip me and Trev our busfare on the way home,
so it was off to the sweet shop for us, I guess we thought that Mum didn't know
about this, but I think she did! :)
Quite a few years ago they moved to Cleveleys, (retirement city!)
and we didn't really get to see them much, I used to go up to see them
with my Mum, (via B&M bargains :) and it was hard on everyone when
Nanna had her stroke, they were too far away to just pop in if we wanted to.
I'm glad to say that they've now moved back to Stockport, they live in Portwood now,
and that's so much closer to everyone, we see them a lot more now.
I think my lasting memories of my Nanna & Grandad are that
Grandad loves to be the life and soul of the party, always one with a joke
or a song for us all, and a laugh to rival that of Basil Brush :)
and my memories of Nanna are of her trying to quieten him down,
and the odd belt here and there, lol, she never quite succeeds though,
we all egg him on too much!!!
It's great to have them back, Grandad can visit his Sisters more
and Nanna comes out to the cross-stich show with us :)
I am glad to have my Grandparents back, finally.
