August 20th 1983 It was beautiful and sunny the day we were married. Everything went the way we wanted it to, no hiccups, no arguments, none of the fighting that sometimes accompanies the drinking at weddings :) It was a day that passed so quickly, much of it was a blur to us, I think the day was made that much smoother by my parents who worked so hard to make it as wonderful as it was, from my Pops giving me away (I think I raced him up the aisle, lol, I was so nervous) to my Mum organising so many things behind the scenes to make the day great. I think a great time was had by all.
My bridesmaids were my Sister Cheryl and best friend Helen. They both looked great, despite me spraying underarm deodrant on Cheryls hair instead of hairspray, lol, yep I was nervous!! They loved their "non-founcy" "non-frilly" dresses, especially Helen, lol, I don't think I could have seen them both in fluffy frilly dresses!

Yes, it was a beautiful calm day. Not so when we got home that night, some sneaky individuals (they know who they are:) had got the keys to the house, they taped up the toilet with parcel tape,(took ages to get that awful glue off!!) taped up all the kitchen cupboards, tied string through the kitchen table and chairs and fastened the living room suite together, we couldn't even sit down!! they did a few other things too like hiding the kettle, we were gasping for a brew too, had to boil a pan of water, I suppose we should be grateful that they didn't turn the gas off!!, lol, and to top it all when we went to get into bed it was full of cornflakes under the sheets!!! The air was blue, we spent all day Sunday tidying the house and opening our gifts and then went back to work on the Monday, big reality check! We never did get a Honeymoon :( we were too broke to have a holiday, oh well, maybe for our 25th :)
